This workshop will be a space to talk about activism, dissent, and speaking out as families. We will share resources, talk about concerns, trade ideas, and build community. Kids of all ages are welcome, and we will have additional child care support on hand in case parents and caregivers need a little break to talk.
Some topics include:
-Making kid friendly signs/making signs with your kids
-Talking to your kids about activism
-Determining what events feel right for your family
-Engaging kids in the process of speaking up
-Tips for how best to prepare for large events with kids
-Anything else the group wants to discuss!
We will also share resources we are in the process of collecting. There is no one size fits all so an array of different ideas and perspectives are welcome!
The Maas Building has kindly offered its space up to hold this and other events for community organizing. We are grateful to them! This event is free but please let us know if you are coming via this event page so we can plan some materials accordingly.
