Philadelphia Magazine Real Weddings: Amber & Zack Fernandes by Lauren Johns

From the bride: “After a whirlwind engagement that surprised everyone, we opted for a low-cost DIY wedding at the Maas Building and 5th side. Philadelphia is where we first met and found our favorite restaurants, including High Street on Market where we had our rehearsal dinner. The Maas Building provided the perfect informal space for our 80 guests and Pitruco Pizza and Philadelphia Brewing Company beer were big hits. The event was one big celebration of a Philadelphia romance and all local vendors!”

NOSHHH: Craft Food & Drink Showcase by Jessica Bell

MAAS had a great time hosting Spirit Forward, Home Brewed Events and Brew Crew Events as they presented NOSHHH. This Speakeasy themed vendor showcase was a rip roaring time!  We sampled hand-crafted cocktails, beer and food from the newest Philadelphia businesses! United By Blue, Chocamo Cookie Cups and The Bees Knees are just a few! We all had a great time enjoying these local eats and drinks while listening to live jazz from Ensemble Novo.

Film Screening: Roxie by Ben R

The Philadelphia premiere of the independent film "Roxie"

ROXIE is the story of two 60-year-old marriage and family therapists going down the rabbit hole of recklessness, seduction and sex. Friends and colleagues for longer than they care to remember, Dave is forever enticing Joel into risky adventures. With Joel’s second marriage failing and Dave perpetually forgetting his own marriage, they take off for a Marriage and Family Therapists conference in San Francisco where Dave convinces Joel that they should hire escorts. It is here that their lives start to unravel. Joel falls in love with the escort Roxie, who has been around a little too long and seen a little too much, while Dave frantically tries to get someone to actually care about him. In ROXIE you will see secrets uncovered, notions of love confronted and friendship tested in ways never imagined.
